Playing Tourist at LACMA

823-1One  of the things I love the most about where I grew up is that no matter how long you live here in Los Angeles, there is always something new to see and do. It is a mecca of new places and events waiting to be discovered. Sticking true to this theme, I recently visited the Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art and played tourist for the afternoon. The coolest exhibit that I saw by far was James Turrell: A Retrospective. It’s difficult to explain, and no photography was allowed but the way Turrell played with lighting and space is incredibly … If you’re in the area, this is definitely a must-see! Other than that, my other favorite exhibit was the Metropolis II which I am attaching some photos of below (but not too many because I don’t want to spoil everything for people who have not been yet).

As far as my outfit of the day, I kept it casual and comfy (my theme in most of my wardrobe if I’m being honest…) with my favorite white crop top on top of a navy lace bralette, pleather shorts, and my trusty white Converse high-tops.  To pull the look together I also accessorized with a black statement necklace. I’m obsessed with this necklace because I really feel like it brings my outfits together from looking like I got dressed in the dark to… looking like I actually care about my appearance. Moreover, it adds a fun element to my outfits that have conservative necklines. Sometimes I even feel naked without wearing it!

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed their labor day weekend, and I look forward to catching up on all of your blog posts to see what you all have been up to! Now onwards to the shots of the day…
